A small village in the southwest of Ireland. It is located in County Cork, near the Macroom area. It is known for its scenic beauty, including the Gougane Barra Lake, a small lake surrounded by the Shehy Mountains. The area is popular for its walks, fishing, and outdoor activities.
It is also home to the Gougane Barra Hotel, a restored 19th-century building, and the Gougane Barra National Forest Park. The area is also known as the birthplace of Saint Finbarr, the patron saint of Cork, the little church is a favorite Wedding Venue for people in the surrounding areas.
